YEEJ, is a multi-hyphenate artist from the Twin Cities, originally from Montana.  He received funding from Northern Spark to create his short film, “The Wind Always Strikes the Highest Mountain” as a premiere for the Northern Lights Festival 2021.  He is a recipient of the Jerome Foundation’s Artist Development grant 2023/2024 for mentorship towards his short film, “Pink Drink.”  Outside of writing and directing, YEEJ is a Production Designer.  His latest production design project, in which he was also a Producer for, was “Bitterroot” a feature film written and directed by Vera Brunner-Sung.  It premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2024 with a Jury mention and screened at Film Fest Knox where it won the Jury Prize.  YEEJ is also a singer-songwriter.  He was part of The Cedar Commissions Cohort for 2024-2025 where he was funded to write and develop all new original music for a piece titled, “PINES,” a 30 minute live visual musical performance alongside a live band.  He is currently in pre-production for his latest short film, “BYTE” as part of the APIA Collective cohort.  It is set to film in the Summer of 2025 and will showcase in Spring of 2026.
